Race Information

The Annual Sycamore Pumpkin 10K Road Race happens on a USATF-sanctioned and certified road race and draws close to 1,600 runners from all over Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and beyond.

This race is held during Sycamore Illinois' famous Pumpkin Festival and has become a staple in the Northern Illinois race circuit. The Pumpkin Run was named a Best of Chicagoland Race by the Chicago Area Runners Association. Proceeds from the Sycamore Pumpkin Run assist in maintaining their historic downtown shopping district, create opportunities to help small businesses succeed, and improve the local economy through community development.

The 10K route starts at the corner of Kishwaukee Drive and heads west on State Street past the beautiful historic 100-year-old DeKalb County Courthouse. Runners will continue through the quaint downtown Sycamore business district and then south on historic, Somonauk Street. You’ll enjoy a kaleidoscope of autumn colors through the Somonauk archway of trees, east on Bethany as you between the corn fields and the horse farm, north on Airport Road, into the park, and over the Kishwaukee River, through the golf course to the finish line.
