Race Information
This race is in honor of Jim Varin, who passed away from Glioblastoma, an aggressive and fatal form of brain cancer, at the young age of 52. Jim was a resident of Smithfield and a Providence firefighter for 31 years. The 5k/10k will start in Deerfield Park in Smithfield, RI, and wind through the surrounding neighborhoods. All proceeds will go towards the Rhode Island Brain and Spine Tumor Foundation to help assist patients and their families who are battling brain/spine cancer. No one should go this road alone!
