Race Information
New Year’s 5K Relay & Kids’ Mile has something for everyone! Whether you’re a casual fun-runner, a parent supporting your future Olympian,
or you just run for tacos, you’ll love this quintessentially Austin race at historic Pease Park.
For the 5K Relay, teams of 3 run 1 mile each along the Shoal Creek Trail on an out-and-back course through Pease Park and Live Oak Meadows. All ages and levels are invited to participate in this event.
The Kids’ Mile races are what make this DPF’s signature event! Kids’ races include: 1-mile elementary grade-level heats, a 500M pre-k run, and a 25M toddler trot. All kids’ races take place in the heart of the park, and are the heart of this event.
All participants and their families are invited to stay for the Annual Memorial Mile Walk that concludes the morning festivities. Your registration benefits the David Phillips Foundation's free after-school sports & rec programs in Austin-area Title-I elementary schools.
