The Helping Hands Half Marathon starts at Marriott Renaissance Conference Center in Florence, Alabama. Run across Tennessee River via Wilson Dam onto paved TVA Trail and throughout TVA Reservation then back across Tennessee River via Patton Island Bridge and back to Conference Center. 5K runs to mid-way Wilson Dam and back to Conference Center. Benefiting the Helping Hands Foundation founded by Bank Independent in 2011 following the devastating April 27 tornado outbreak. The program has since grown into the Helping Hands Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of neighbors across the communities served.
