Race Information
The Pioneer Day Road Race in Newport, MN, is a lively community celebration centered around a scenic 5K run and walk. Starting and finishing in Pioneer Park, the route travels north toward City Hall before returning along the festive parade path. In addition to the main 5K, there are kid-friendly 400 m and 800 m dashes—kids under 12 can even run free with proper registration. Participants who register by mid‑July are assured an event T‑shirt, and the atmosphere is perfect for seasoned runners, families, and everyone in between. This event is a vibrant kickoff to Pioneer Day, blending fitness, community spirit, and parade-day excitement.
