Celebrate the Highland Park community this summer with the return of the annual Highland Park Half Marathon, 5K and 1-Mile Walk. As the official charity partner of the Highland Park Community Foundation, you can enjoy a fun run with family and friends and give back to the community you love at the same time!
Experience the former North Shore Classic race with a sizzling celebration of the Highland Park community both on and off the course! After taking on the half marathon, 5K, or 1-Mile Walk course through Chicagoland’s beautiful North Shore, runners can let loose at the post-race picnic featuring live music, delicious hot off the grill food, drinks, and much more!

Want a unique animal themed medal? Run for the Zoo can make that happen on June 2, 2024.
For 46 years, runners of all levels and abilities have supported Lincoln Park Zoo with Run for the Zoo. This run makes it easy for anyone from casual runners to elite athletes help support their favorite species at the zoo and save them in the wild.
The 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk courses are U.S.A. Track & Field-certified and chip-timed for experienced athletes. All finishers receive a unique animal-themed medal along with a race shirt.
Run for the Zoo is also designed to accommodate every member of the family, so you can make a day of it. The Kids’ Course is perfect for kids ages 2–7, who can run, climb, and crawl over playful obstacles on the South Lawn.
