Far in the distance, away from the bright lights of the Strip, the Las Vegas Turkey Trot, runs along an old railroad line through Lake Mead Recreation Area. Every distance (half marathon, 12K, 5K, or 1-mile) showcases views of Lake Mead, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. ​

Runners pass through the Six Tunnels to Hoover Damβ€”a landmark that’s often depicted on the unique finisher’s medals.
