Race Information

Beat The Blerch is a 5K/10k/half/full marathon founded by The Oatmeal, which takes place in the beautiful mossy forests of Carnation, Washington. The race was inspired by this comic: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/running

There will be cake at every aid station, infinite supplies of Nutella, and Blerches in costume who may or may not be chasing you throughout the race. This marathon is your chance to figuratively (and literally), Beat The Blerch.

It’s quick, (mostly) flat, and in the beautiful woods of the Pacific Northwest. Runners are treated to spectacular views along the Snoqualmie Valley River trail, which winds its way through evergreen, mossy forests.  The race takes place in Carnation, Washington, a quaint little town located about 35 minutes outside of Seattle!

Run Pick of the Month - Galloping Gertie

Showcasing the best views of the Pacific Northwest, take part in a half marathon, 10K, or 5K on August 3, 2024.

Each race crosses the iconic Tacoma Narrows Bridge, known as Galloping Gertie, offering stunning views of the Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountains, and the surrounding cities of Tacoma and Gig Harbor.

Take part in one of the few races that go from one end of the bridge to the other. Plus, receive a custom finisher medal, free downloadable race photos, and a cool tech tee!

The best part? All proceeds support local charities!
