RBC Race for the Kids offers 5k and 10k races - in support of youth mental health. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned runner, this is the event for you. You choose the distance that works for you and we’ll help you every step of the way.
Did you know that 1.2 million young Canadians struggle with mental health issues, such as anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, depression and addiction yet only one in five receive the medical care they need? This event supports the Family Navigation Project at Sunnybrook to connect young people with vital mental health and addiction services.
Beginner Runner Training Plans
Are you looking to become a runner for the first time? Coming back to running after a hiatus? Our friends at None to Run have created a gradual training plan for beginner runners!
In 3 workouts of 30 minutes or less per week, None to Run will take you from ground zero to running comfortably for 25 minutes straight.
None to Run is different from most beginner plans:
- Focuses on running time. NOT distance or pace.
- Includes simple strength and mobility workouts. No equipment required.
- Progresses slowly to decrease the chances of getting injured.
