Great Olympic Adventure Trail Run
GOAT Run is a half marathon, full marathon, and 50K trail run on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. The race is point-to-point on primarily single-track trail, ending at Lake Crescent inside Olympic National Park. The full marathon course starts near the Elwha River. The route follows the entire length of the Olympic Adventure Trail, 21+ miles of single-track trail and 4 miles of forest road. The final ¾ mile of the race is on a paved road, finishing with a bang as runners enter Olympic National Park at the deep, glacially carved Lake Crescent.
The half marathon course is the second half of the marathon route. The 50K is the marathon route plus an out-and-back along the shores of the lake on the Spruce Railroad Trail, including a refurbished historic railroad tunnel and bridge over Devil's Punchbowl. The finish line is a Log Cabin Resort, where runners will find beer and refreshments (and swimming!) waiting for them.
