From Fort Davis you'll climb a rocky, single track into the Davis Mountains as you enter Davis Mountains State Park. As the vast panorama opens up, you'll take in the thin mountain air at over a mile high. For those that go into the night, you'll gaze at the same wide open, dark sky studied by the nearby McDonald Observatory.
