Parkway Classic
Race Information
Born in 1984, the George Washington Parkway Classic is among the most scenic and spacious distance races on the East Coast. From the serene beauty of our spacious course meandering through the finest spring bloom in the DC area, to beautiful views of the Potomac and charming streets of Alexandria, the Parkway Classic is a journey that celebrates the simple joys of road racing.
The race begins at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and ends along the Potomac in Alexandria with free tacos and a beer garden courtesy of Port City Brewing Co. Athletes can expect: a technical tee, finisher medal, post race food (tacos!), Port City beer, free photo booth, chip timed results, free bus transportation to start, and one of the prettiest runs in all of Metro DC. Kid’s Dash kids receive bib number, medal, and post-run treat.
