At the Wings for Life World Run there is no finish line. Instead, 30 minutes after the start a Catcher Car begins pursuit, passing the runners and rollers one after the other. Once the car passes a runner their race is finished.

This race happens worldwide with all participants starting at the exact same time 

Woah... I have to outrun a virtual car!? That sounds intense

The car doesn't start chasing you down until 30 minutes after the race start, meaning that runners of all abilities can come out and see how far they can make it. 

The virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14km/h and increases its speed every 30 minutes until the last runners have been caught. 

You can take part either with their App - on your own, together with friends or at an organized run. If the prevailing conditions allow, you can also take part at one of the in person Flagship Runs.

As a non-profit foundation, Wings for Life supports promising research projects and clinical studies around the world. Their main goal: finding a cure for spinal cord injury. The Wings for Life World Run is helping to achieve that goal. Or to be more precise: everyone who takes part in the race.
