Rescue Run
Race Information
Rescue Run is a fundraiser event where the proceeds go to El Paso County Search & Rescue (EPCSAR), which conducts search and rescue operations in the area. The course is mostly dirt trails running through East Bear Creek. Expect ice on shady patches or throughout the trail if it snowed the day before.
Running since 1979, "Rain, Snow, or 20 Below" is the motto of the race. Despite adverse weather conditions, the organizers never canceled the race. The Colorado Springs Police canceled the race one year due to blizzard, snow, and ice. Still, some runners went out and ran the race unofficially.
