Race Information

The HBCU Run the District 5K Run/Walk and Community Day features a point‑to‑point, timed road course that starts and ends in the Bridge District of Southeast Washington, DC. Participants travel across the iconic Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and through the vibrant Nationals Park area along the Anacostia River. It’s a scenic, energetic route designed for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. Both in‑person and virtual participation options are available, and all registered participants receive an official race t‑shirt. More than a race, this event is a community celebration honoring the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). It brings together alumni, families, students, and supporters for a day centered on health, wellness, education, and fellowship. Every step taken helps advance their mission to raise scholarship funds for local students who aspire to attend an HBCU. Whether you join them on the course or participate virtually, every registration makes a difference.
