Hi Lee! Who are you? Give us your best one line bio

I'm the head coach and founder of Halifax Road Hammers

Tell us a bit about the Road Hammers and the type of runners that typically run with the group

The club was founded in Sept 2016. Runners of all abilities are welcome, from beginner to elite. Our main focus has been on road running throughout Atlantic Canada, but we also do some track races. All ages and abilities are welcome as our goal is to be an all inclusive club.

We have 3 different types of membership with the group:

- Online coaching for anyone who isn't living in Halifax
- Our development group for beginner runners who are looking for more structure and access to a coach
- A performance group for any runner who has a sub 3:30 marathon personal best

Where/when do you usually meet and run?

Our usual schedule is:

Developmental group - Tuesday evening @ 5:30, Saturday morning @ 8:30
Performance group - Wednesday evening @ 5:30, Saturday morning @ 9:30

Our location changes from week to week, but 90% of the time we meet at Point Pleasant Park

The best way to keep up to date on time and locations is through out Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/hfxroadhammers/

Any cost to be a member/join?

There is a monthly membership to join the club

Is your group affiliated with any events?

We try and support many of the Run Nova Scotia Races, and usually have high participation at the Penguin 5k, and the Dartmouth Natal Day races

Where are your favourite local spots to run in/around?

Frog pond, Purcell's cove. This is a hilly and challenging route for a Sunday long run. Any loop within the city that includes Point Pleasant Park, the boardwalk and the citadel.

Do you personally have any favourite local races?

Penguin Run 5k, Natal Day 6 miler. Both races are local, well organized, competitive fields, great community engagement. These are must do races throughout the summer

Anything else that we should know?

We love meeting other runners so come visit us anytime. Visit us on social media and let us know you're coming. Everyone is welcome!
