March is here and that means St. Patrick's Day and green beer! It's also the perfect time to get out for a run. We've put together a list of St. Patrick's Day themed runs happening around Chicago.

Chicago St. Patrick's Day Runs

Arlington Heights Shamrock Beer Run 5k

Date: March 9, 2019
Distance: 5k

Start with a toast of a brew then run 5K, stopping each kilometer or so to drink another beer! Come and enjoy a 5K, some beer then be rewarded with a magnetic bottle-opening finishers medal! Plus all participants receive a long-sleeve shirt & pint glass. Not to mention 31 ounces of beer are included! Hang out after the run for an awesome post-race BrewFest!

Rockford Shamrock Beer Run 5k

Date: March 16, 2019
Distance: 5k

Come enjoy beer, running, beer, walking, beer, stumbling, beer & partying at Rockford Speedway! This year your experience will be even more fun and enjoyable. The Post Race Party will be Indoors this year! As in Previous Years, this event features 5 beer stops, one at the start and at every kilometer. The festivities begin at noon at the Speedway.

All registered participants get a souvenir beer glass, Shamrock Beer Run long-sleeve T-shirt and an event medal for completing the course. The course will have multiple beer stops to quench your parched throat with 3 ounces of beer. Each race beer stop will be sponsored by a different brewery. This race benefits the Nikolas Ritschell Foundation.

Deer Park St Paddy's Day 5k & 10K

Date: March 16, 2019
Distance: 5k, 10k

A fast, flat, chip-timed race, this is a great chance to test your early season speed! Live Irish music gets everyone in the spirit; there's a Kiss Me, I'm Irish arch for runners to run through; and finish line treats include green soda and chocolate coins.

Bolingbrook St. Paddy's Half Marathon & 5K

Date: March 17, 2019
Distance: 5k, Half Marathon

The St. Paddy's Half Marathon & 5K is a fun way to bring the Bolingbrook community together and promotes staying active and healthy. The Village of Bolingbrook offers a great backdrop for this endurance event and we are proud to welcome all of our local and regional runners. Everyone gets a finisher medal but the first 1,000 get pint glasses!

Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K

Date: March 24, 2019
Distance: 8k

The Shamrock Shuffle 8k is a huge celebration of the beginning of running season. It is the world's largest timed 8k, starting and finishing in Chicago's Grant Park. Runners feel the energy of over 30,000 runners and a big cheering crowd (present during the entire course.) The excitement lasts throughout the after-party, where participants find beer, food and live music.
