West Virginia Spartan Trail
The Spartan Trail Races are a series of off-road running events that take place around the world. Participants of all levels are invited to tackle a range of distances and terrains, from 10K to ultra-marathon distances, with obstacles such as steep inclines, rocky paths, and mud pits. These races offer a unique challenge that requires endurance, strength, and mental fortitude. With events taking place in some of the world's most stunning locations, the Spartan Trail Races offer runners the chance to push their limits while experiencing nature's beauty. The event is by the same company that started the popular Spartan Race series of obstacle course races.
Summit Bechtel Reserve, the location for this trail race, is adjacent to the legendary New River Gorge, a trail runner's paradise. You'll find varied terrain from wide buttery single track to steep and technical off-trail sections, all winding through a lush, jungle-like forest and over steep, punchy climbs.
