The Memorial 5K Run/Walk—hosted annually at VFW Post #1302 in Kearny, New Jersey—brings together runners and walkers to honor Staff Sergeant Jorge Oliveira. The event supports the SSG Jorge Oliveira Scholarship Fund, awarding a grant to a graduating senior of Kearny High School. Held on a certified 5K course starting and finishing at the VFW Post on Belgrove Drive, it welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to celebrate community spirit while commemorating SSG Oliveira’s legacy.
